Aftermarket: Refers to new items and parts that are designed to replace existing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products. They are also known as aftermarket replacement parts or compatible parts.
Core Returns: Any purchased items that require a core return product back to AMS Medical Source, LLC must be returned within thirty days. Failure to return the core within the specified timeframe may result in charges up to the full price of the purchased item, which will be billed to the customer.
End of Life: Refers to products that have been discontinued and are no longer supported by the OEM. This can apply to both goods and services. AMS Medical Source, LLC does not make any claims or warranties regarding the OEM's designation of End of Life for a product.
Evaluation: Customers may bring a service product to AMS Medical Source, LLC for evaluation. A flat rate will not be provided for items undergoing evaluation. AMS Medical Source, LLC will assess the issue with the product and provide a quote for repair, exchange, or replacement. If the customer does not accept the evaluation, the products may be returned to the customer. Certain evaluations may require fees if the unit is not repaired, exchanged, or replaced by AMS Medical Source, LLC.
Exchange: AMS Medical Source, LLC may offer an exchange on equipment instead of repairing it. Exchanges are typically offered when the original equipment is deemed beyond repair or when the cost of repair exceeds the cost of replacement. Advanced exchanges may also be offered for faster repairs, where a compatible unit is shipped to the customer and their unit is sent to AMS Medical Source, LLC as a trade-in. The customer's asset will become the property of AMS Medical Source, LLC. Costs incurred by the customer for exchanges will be determined by AMS Medical Source, LLC. If items sent to AMS Medical Source, LLC do not meet quality criteria for inventory replacement, costs may be higher than originally quoted.
Flat Rate: Term applied to items that have a negotiated price for repair services. Flat rates assume that the item has a standard malfunction or normal wear and tear while in operation, according to OEM standards and guidelines. Items with multiple failures or signs of tampering may require pricing changes. AMS Medical Source, LLC will not honor flat rates for items that have been cannibalized or repaired with nonfunctioning or broken parts from other devices.
Calibrations, Preventative Maintenance (PM), Software Upgrades: Items that undergo calibration or preventative maintenance services only will not carry AMS Medical Source, LLC's warranty. However, these items will be guaranteed to work and be properly calibrated or maintained for thirty days.
OEM: Abbreviation for Original Equipment Manufacturer, referring to the original manufacturer of a product.
Refurbished: Previously used equipment or parts that have been repaired and restored to OEM standards by AMS Medical Source, LLC for reuse.
Turn Time / Lead Time: Represents the duration in which AMS Medical Source, LLC will possess the product. Shipping times and customer waiting periods are not included in turn times. These estimates are subject to change based on the current volumes being handled at AMS Medical Source, LLC's facility.
Unsupported: AMS Medical Source, LLC does not provide service or parts for products that are not supported by the OEM. In such cases, AMS Medical Source, LLC may offer a replacement item or return the unsupported product to the customer.
